Album Of The Month - January 2016
Paper Aeroplanes - 'Joy'
Welsh duo of Sarah Howells and Richard Llewellyn joined forces in 2006. Starting off as Halflight the duo changed their name to Paper Aeroplanes in 2009.
Their ethereal brand of acoustic dream pop and folk quickly established a loyal fan base that is continuing to grow with each new music release and tour.
Already with a sublime back catalogue of several EPs and three studio albums, a critically acclaimed new album 'Joy' was released in April 2015.
Featuring the duo's hallmarks of great songwriting, melodies and harmonies, the new collection of songs is stunning. Sarah's vocals are as beautiful and haunting as ever whilst the overall sound is slightly more electronic giving the songs a more upbeat, bouncy and happy vibe than before.
Paper Aeroplanes have produced an album of exceptional quality and without doubt their best to date. Even greater achievements are beckoning but in the meantime 'Joy' is essential listening!
